3 years ago, there was an event: twosday give away, the prize was 222 free tickets, and I'm the only winner. That's really my unforgettable memory with gsc. Before the event, I always support gsc. After get the prize, I almost live in gsc. And now, until future, gsc always my first choice.

I decided to treat myself to a solo movie night at GSC — nothing fancy, just some “me time” with an action-packed film. You know the type: bullets flying, cars flipping, the whole cinema vibrating from the sound system (classic GSC immersion).

Then, right in the middle of the madness — during a particularly loud explosion — I noticed a guy a few rows ahead suddenly kneel down. I squinted, thinking maybe he dropped something. Nope. He pulled out a ring. A full-on proposal. In the middle of a gunfight scene.

The movie never paused. The action kept blasting through the speakers while this couple had their romantic moment, trying to shout over the chaos. She looked confused, then emotional, then nodded — and they hugged while a helicopter crashed in the background. People around clapped awkwardly between gunshots.

It was bizarre. Hilarious. Weirdly sweet. And so, so memorable.

I came to GSC alone expecting action and explosions — I didn’t expect to witness love bloom mid-carnage. That unexpected moment, paired with the always-great GSC atmosphere, turned an ordinary solo night into a story I still tell friends today.

I was a young kid, growing up watching DVDs of older movies back in the day happily without knowing the true essence of a cinema. My dad who was a movie lover enlightened me about a new cinema that soon is going to be opened in my area, mentakab Star Mall. We went there and saw it still being constructed. I remember my first ever movie was 2012's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I was scared because of the light and the sound was too loud. But, The Avengers came around and it's my first movie that i finally brave enough to see and hear, it was unreal. That's also the movie where me and my dad shared the same interest for almost a decades, The Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though we sometimes argue or fight, GSC is always the place where we put aside our differences and bonded as a father and son, happily watching Iron Man fighting Captain America and silenced when Thanos won in Infinity War. 
Now that I'm older, I always go there alone but I always remember GSC not as a place but an experience to be celebrate with my love one. One day for sure, we're going to go there and enjoying our popcorn and watch movies like we used to. Thank You, GSC. 

#MYGSCStory is a nostalgic one. It was my first and earliest experience of watching a movie in theaters. It was at GSC Berjaya Megamall in Kuantan. The year was 2000, my parents brought us to see Walt Disney's Dinosaur when I was just 3 years old. And yet, I somehow still remember some scenes of the movie, including the interior of the hall and even the old fabric they used for the seats. I'll forever cherish that moment, as I grew up to be a movie buff and I have GSC to thank for being a contributor to my passion.

#MYGSCStory is back when I was studying Diploma in Engineering in Ipoh, I went to GSC Ipoh Parade Mall all the time ALONE to watch whatever I want, from big blockbusters to indie films. One time, when I was broke, I REALLY wanted to watch Aronofsky’s "Mother!". But I only had enough money for the ticket. So I decided to walk 10 km from Politeknik to the mall and back…..and it was all worth it. I don’t mind if I don’t win. I just want to say thank you.

I’m an international student studying in Malaysia. When I first arrived, I didn’t have any friends, and for quite a long time, going to the nearby GSC cinema became one of the few joys in my life. I’ve watched all kinds of movies there, but the ones that left the deepest impression on me were the horror films. Exhuma was the first horror movie I watched at GSC. I’m a timid yet curious person, and luckily, the theater was full during the screening. Whenever a scary or shocking scene came on, everyone around me would get startled or even scream, just like I did. That made watching movies in the cinema a completely unique experience.

Later on, I made new friends, and at the end of last year, we went to see Smile 2 together at GSC, another horror movie. This time, I had someone to hold hands with and scream together. I can honestly say that GSC has become an irreplaceable part of my life as an international student—a place where I can truly unwind. Thank you, GSC：）

I’ve never attended a concert in my life — but recently, GSC gave me that chance.

They screened Red Velvet’s 10th Year Anniversary Fan Concert at a cinema near me, and I immediately brought my cousin along. Red Velvet has been my all-time favourite K-pop girl group, so this meant the world to me.

There’s one moment I’ll never forget: when the girls performed “Underwater.” As the song played, I felt like I had an out-of-body experience. Their voices and the music completely filled the cinema — and it felt like they were right there with me. I was in a trance, fully immersed in that performance, the big screen and surround sound making it even more magical.

Thank you, GSC, for bringing my girls close to me. I may never get to relive that exact moment, but I’ll always be grateful for what it felt like to attend a concert — all from the comfort of a cinema seat.

When I was young, during my primary school days, my father would randomly bring us to GSC at Leisure Mall, especially on Wednesdays when the tickets were cheaper. It felt like such a treat — skipping homework for a movie night( juz kidding, im a good student alright), sharing popcorn with my siblings (ESPECIALLY MY MOM, her all time favourite snack), and just enjoying simple happiness.

During school holidays, my mom would sometimes bring us all the way to Mid Valley KL to watch movies at GSC on the third floor. I still remember how exciting it was — back then it already felt big and amazing, but over the years, GSC kept expanding, renovating, and upgrading. It was so amazing to see GSC grow — from being just a cinema to becoming bigger, better, and even launching premium experiences like Aurum by GSC. Truly amazing!

As I grew older, GSC continued to be a part of my life in different ways. Every Chinese New Year, my cousins and I would gather after visiting relatives and head straight to GSC — it became a tradition we always looked forward to. Then came the movie nights with my high school and university friends — late-night shows, scary thrillers, endless laughter, and unforgettable memories.

One very special memory was my first date — right at GSC Mid Valley — watching Alita: Battle Angel! I still laugh thinking about how nervous (and excited) I was, but somehow being inside the cinema made everything feel so much more comfortable.

And of course, my little sister deserves a mention — no matter what movie we watched, she would always doze off within 30 minutes! It became such a cute running joke in the family.

Honestly, sometimes I would even purposely visit GSC just to buy their popcorn — no movie needed! That buttery, nostalgic smell is simply irresistible and always reminds me of happy times.

Today, I’m proud to say I’ve experienced every type of GSC hall — from the standard comfy seats to the luxurious Aurum by GSC. Each experience has been spectacular in its own way, whether it’s a simple outing or a grand treat.

From childhood memories to milestones with friends and loved ones, GSC has truly been part of every stage of my life. Thank you, GSC, for growing alongside me and giving me memories I’ll always treasure. XOXO 😘

The year was 2003. When a mum brought her 10-year-old kid to watch Finding Nemo at GSC 1 Utama (New Wing), not knowing it would spark a deeper love for movies forever.

That kid was me.

I’ve loved movies since I was little. Jurassic Park was my first obsession, but I only experienced it on VHS — rewinding the velociraptor scene over and over. But it was watching a movie in the big screens that changed everything for me. Feeling like I was actually part of an underwater world. Bigger. Brighter. More magical than ever. 

Since then, the cinemas have been my escape, my time machine, and my place of memories. From the mind-bending Inception to the quiet beauty of Arrival, the raw brilliance of Parasite, the joy of The Greatest Showman, the suspense of A Quiet Place, and the emotional ride of Inside Out — each movie left a mark.

But the real magic? It’s the moments after — walking through the car park with friends, family, or a loved one, geeking out over what we just saw, talking about the twists and turns long after the credits roll.

When I got to work with Disney, it felt even more real. Being part of the experience of bringing movies to life in cinemas — it was a dream come true.

I’m so grateful that cinemas exist — to transport us to places we’ve never been, to bring stories to life, and to give us (at least, me) memories we’ll never forget.

And it all started with a little boy, a clownfish, and the magic of seeing a movie come alive on the big screen at GSC 1 Utama.

I recently experienced the luxurious Aurum Theatre for the first time — and it completely redefined what a night at the movies could be. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt premium: quiet, elegant, and exclusive.

I watched Blood Brothers, an emotional, gripping film that elevated the entire experience. The sound and visuals were stunning — every detail crisp, every moment immersive. Paired with the plush comfort of the theatre, I was completely absorbed.

It wasn’t just a movie night — it was a cinematic escape wrapped in indulgent comfort. A truly unforgettable experience.

A Movie Night to Remember with Dad

I still remember the very first time I stepped into a cinema. I was 16, and it was my dad who brought me. We watched *Night at the Museum* at GSC, and though I can’t recall every scene of the movie, I’ll never forget the feeling of that night.
My dad has always been careful with money. Entertainment wasn’t something he spent on often. So when he picked me up after work on his motorbike and said, “Let’s go watch a movie,” I was surprised and secretly excited. He even asked if I wanted popcorn. Although I shyly said no, he bought it anyway and handed me the first handful with a smile.
That was my very first experience in a cinema. The huge screen, the dark hall, the laughter of the audience, and most importantly, sitting next to the man who had always put our family first. He didn’t say much, but the quiet happiness on his face meant everything to me.
That night wasn’t just a movie outing. It was a memory I’ve carried in my heart ever since.
Now that I have the time, I try to take him to the movies whenever I can to create more beautiful memories, just like that very first one.

Wow, thinking back, one of my most special moments at GSC was in 2005. I was actually pregnant with my second child, and my hubby , our eldest daughter, and I were so excited to finally use these complimentary movie passes I'd managed to win from a Radio Station! We headed to GSC Mid Valley Megamall to see King Kong, starring Naomi Watts.
I remember being so impressed with GSC Mid Valley Megamall back then. It was one of the biggest multiplex cinemas in Asia, boasting a whopping 18 screens! Watching 'King Kong' there was quite an wonderful experience, especially knowing we were in such a massive and modern cinema. The visuals and sound were absolutely incredible in GSC.
There was a little hiccup though! The movie was so intense that my eldest daughter got a bit scared towards the end and wanted to leave. So, we ended up having to take her out, and I didn't get to fully enjoy the whole movie. A little bit of a shame, but the overall experience of being at such a grand cinema to watch a big movie like 'King Kong' still sticks with me!

I was 8 when Dad first brought me to the cinema. It was our little tradition, every birthday, just the two of us and the big screen. After he passed when I was 15, the silence beside me in the theatre felt louder than ever. But every time the lights dim and the movie begins, it’s like he’s there again. Laughing, whispering comments, sharing popcorn. In those moments, I’m a child again, and he’s never really gone.

Does anyone still remember that GSC had a WeChat account called "GSCinemas"? Only the legendary GSC "old bird" fans would know about it. , 😜 My fondest memory with GSC is when I won a bundle of "GSC COLLECTIBLES" during the "Hatch the Golden Egg" WeChat games/contest. They weren’t very valuable, but they were limited and memorable. Other people kept models as their collection, but I kept and displayed what I got from GSC as my collection. Love you, GSC!

The memory started in 2015 when I brought my late dad to GSC Mid Valley to watch a movie. It was his first time coming into a GSC cinema and he was so impressed with what he saw. It reminded him of the days when movies are in the cinemas dominated by Cathay and Shaw Bros. He was so thrill to be back in the cinema as he was a movie buff. The joy on his face that day reminds me of my younger days my dad use to bring me to the cinemas. I am so grateful to GSC that has brought back those memories for me where its so precious for me to be togther with my late dad enjoying movies in the cinema. Thank you to GSC . You are still the best.
