About My Mind On Film (MMOF) Festival
MMOF is a youth mental health short film festival based in Malaysia. We are all about inspiration, expression, understanding, and stigma reduction with a focus on the Malaysian context. This project is central to the Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing of HELP University and GSC’s commitment to engage with young people, hear their voices, and work together for progress.

This Season
The theme this year is ‘REVIVAL’ – show us what this means to you in your mental health journey.
Categories & Prizes
Nine finalist films (3 from each category) will be screened in full at GSC Tropicana Gardens Mall cinema during the Awards Ceremony in October 2023.
Grand Prize (Malaysian Young Adult Category – Ages 18 to 25)
➤ RM30,000 funding to create a mental health PSA film to be screened at GSC theatres
➤ Cash prize of RM10,000
➤ Internship placement with Naluri
➤ Three one-hour executive coaching OR therapy sessions with Naluri (English, B. Malaysia, Mandarin)
* counselling may be available in other languages (via enquiry)
Best Youth Film (Malaysian High Schoolers Category – Ages 15 to 17)
➤ Cash prize of RM3,000
Best International Film (International Young Adults Category – Ages 18 to 25)
➤ Cash prize of RM3,000
➤ Three one-hour executive coaching OR therapy sessions with Naluri (Ages 18+ only; in English, B. Malaysia, Mandarin)
* counselling may be available in other languages (via enquiry)
• All accepted films will feature in the My Mind On Film Virtual Festival and be promoted on our website and social media.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Rules for Film Submission:
1. Films can be in any Languages but WITH English subtitles
2. Duration of 1-8 mins
3. Made during 2021-2023
4. Adheres to Malaysian P13 (PG13) rating
5. All contributors for a given film are in the same specified age category at time of film production
𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: If you are under 18 years of age, you will need to get your parent or guardian’s consent to submit the film on your behalf. Consent forms can be downloaded from MMOF website (https://sites.google.com/view/mymindonfilm/safety-and-wellbeing) and should be emailed to mymindonfilm.my@gmail.com including ‘CONSENT FORM’ in the subject line.
