Sepet is a romantic teen comedy-drama film set in Ipoh, Malaysia. Directed by the late Yasmin Ahmad, it tells of a love that blooms between a Chinese boy and a Malay girl. Released theatrically on 24th February 2005, “Sepet” remains a fan favourite since its release almost 20 years ago. In the spirit of Merdeka & Malaysia Day, GSC International Screens is bringing back this beloved film back to selected cinemas for a limited time from 29th August to 18th September 2024.

19-year old Ah Loong (Ng Choo Seong) is in charge of a street stall selling pirated VCDs, who is an incurable romantic with a unique hobby, he loves to read and write poetry. Quite content to carry on being the “Romeo” of the slums, Ah Loong’s life takes on a sudden change one day when a 16-year old Malay school girl (Sharifah Amani) arrives at his stall in search Takeshi Kaneshiro films. From then on, a unique love story begins…
