The Iranian Film Festival 2025 in Malaysia returns this year , offering a unique opportunity to experience the art of Iranian cinema - while exploring the rich culture and heritage of Iran.

Organized by the Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuala Lumpur, with the support of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia and in collaboration with GSC International Screens and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), the festival aims to strengthen cultural ties between Iran and Malaysia through the presentation of 5 outstanding Iranian films.

Come and experience the diverse and captivating storytelling from Iranian Cinema from talented and acclaimed directors on the big screen, including the official submission to the 97th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film category film titled ‘ In The Arms of the Tree’.

FREE SCREENINGS of the 5 acclaimed Iranian movies will be held exclusively at GSC Mid Valley Megamall, GSC MyTown, GSC Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru & GSC Gurney Plaza Penang from 20th – 23rd February 2025.

Tickets for the Iranian Film Festival are FREE of charge and are redeemable 2 hours prior to each movie’s showtime on a first-come, first-served basis.

Terms & Conditions

  • Tickets for the Iranian Film Festival 2025 are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and cannot be resold or redeemed for cash. They are also not valid in conjunction with any current or ongoing promotions.
  • All tickets are FREE and are redeemable 2 hours before each movie’s showtime on a first-come, first-served basis at the 4 participating cinemas.

Please note the following during the Iranian Film Festival 2025 screenings:

  • Selected scenes in the Iranian Film Festival movies “Goodbye Shirazi Girl” & “Fragrant” will be manually blocked in accordance with the censorship requirement issued by the Film Censorship Board, Ministry of Home Affairs in compliance with Malaysian censorship guidelines.
  • All movies will be screened in their original language, with English subtitles. 
  • “Dolphin Boy” will be screened in English, without subtitles.
