Synopsis: 

This biographical drama, directed by Eguchi Kan—who won the Best Action Film award at the 23rd Fantasia International Film Festival for The Fable—tells the story of a businessman who played a pivotal role in popularizing mentaiko (spicy cod roe) in Japan.

Set in the 1950s, the story follows Toshiyuki (Hakata Hanamaru) and his wife Chiyoko (Tomita Yasuko), who run a small grocery store. Born in Busan, South Korea, before World War II, Toshiyuki is inspired by his memories of myeongnan-jeot to create mentaiko. He dedicates himself to refining the flavor day after day.
